You may have already heard about the BIG ISDN switch off that is coming and will affect businesses across the UK.

A bit about what’s happening…

Back in 2015, Openreach announced they would be switching off their ISDN (Integrated Services Digital Network) and PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network) services in 2025, and from 2023 you won’t even be able to order new PSTN and ISDN services. It means that by 2025, every phone line in the UK will be digital, with calls being routed over the internet.


So what does this mean for you?

In the UK, fixed voice lines is a huge market. The market totalled a whopping £32.6 million at the end of 2021. So, this will be a big change for many people, from businesses to homes, and how they currently operate. Businesses may be apprehensive as to how this might affect them, as this is a huge milestone for both technology and data.
